Visit Swampspace to experience the recent work of Douglas Hoekzema while he explore the trajectory of sound as a dynamic expression of mark-making using Cymatics practice to reveal the profound impact sound frequencies have on the human condition. Hoxxoh demonstrates how sound waves can create intricate geometric patterns in paint.
About the Artist: Douglas Hoekzema is a Miami-based artist whose style emphasizes mark-making, color, and mechanized paint applications. His use of improvisational mechanisms allow new series to represent new time in his artistic practice. Hoxxoh’s practice is an exercise in letting go allowing artistic mark to guide itself alongside the artist.
About Swampspace: Swampspace was founded in 2005 in the Miami Design District as an alternative art space presenting varied cultural events for the novice and seasoned art enthusiasts.
