We are thrilled to announce the support of ARTIST RELIEF GRANT 2020 that will assist us during COVID19 emergency.  The arts funding is greatly appreciated as it will be used to help those in need and to assure that our studio and gallery will endure the pandemic and be ready when the restrictions are lifted by authority.  See y'all on the recovery from this frightening nightmare.

Bunny Yeager offers us a glimpse into a sultry and ribald society seemingly marooned on South Florida in the 1950’s. Her photographic work underscores a mythical underbelly of beauty and fertility depicted with grace and gray scale. Yeager’s most indelible impressions are of the notorious Bettie Page.

Kitty Brophy is a Charites of the west. Nature is her domain. Her work is like an Erté without the nightgown, a Schiele without the angst. They are auto-anatomical landscapes adrift in tactile abandon, precision and passion. For Kitty, beauty is in the eye the tiger.

Eve Eurydice speaks to the fetish of manners, popular culture and risk assessment. Eve is the greek tycoon of an erotic socio political economic divide. Her ability to smash the moralist and decentralize systems of understanding a fuel that blasted outward broadcasting all cardinal points of view.

As our mythological goddesses of Charites, Yeager, Brophy and Eurydice lure us towards a right of passage. These three graces captivate us with lasting images of the fairer sex. They grab our gaze with their charming distillations of human creativity that are befit the retinue of Aphrodite.

Jewbana is a theatrical monologue about a girl named Susie. Like most of us, Susie is many things. She is a native, a Jew, a wife, daughter, sister, mother, best friend, an actress and escape artist. With so many hats to wear, you may wonder who exactly is Susie?  Well ask no more. Join Susie as she hurls through a surreal and tribal wonderland. The vapors of time and space transform her into vignettes of the major characters in her life. The result is a delightful absurdist drama, ribald and the occasional poignant satire.

Logan Fazio - Everglades Survey

LOGAN FAZIO OPENS PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

Swampspace presents Everglades Survey by photographer Logan Fazion.

Best known for her candid images of beachgoers and resort town enthusiasts, Logan’s work also includes depictions of nature as captured by analog film photography.  By applying various forms physical manipulation of traditional media, Fazio renders sublime dreamlike vignettes of a precious natural splendor that is the Everglades. In these photographs nature reigns supreme with her mystifying allure of forbidden pleasure and daunting peril hidden in plein air.  Logan’s Everglades Survey clearly captures the irresistible and irrepressible tug and push of nature’s calling.

GISELLE’S MUSIC CLUB

Opens September 14th 7-11pm

Giselle is best recognized as the hugely popular tragic opera of the 19th century. 

It tells the story of love stricken youth tangled in deceit, supernatural forces of reprisal and ultimately love redemption.

For our season premier we present a musical program featuring a sampling our best and brightest; Haute Tension, Das Sad and others.  Welcomed also is our guest of honor non other than swampy prince of rhymes, Marcus Blake.  

To round out the night we flood  the gallery walls with an incomparable photographic survey of the Everglades by the exacting eye of Logan Fazio.  

Finally, join us for the after-party of 305 Collective FeCuOp Antenna exhibition at Locust.
