Spotted in the Design District, prior to his planterification makeover, this awesome Paloma Teppa life size Mr.Ed ushered in the beginning of the end for the old artists barns.

The DD, ever more impervious to slump, was hopping with surreal crowds ala 2012 as witnessed by this formidable convergence of Salvador Dali enthusiasts cued up to gawk at a pricy viewing of the great mustache's works on loan from private collections.

Open House at the new Swampspace Gallery was a family affair with amused guests greeted by Murray the new rooster. Everyone enjoyed comfort food and a casual exhibition featuring recycled Scharf Closet #18 from Young At Arts and a charming diminutive sculpture by Bhakti Baxter. Also adorning the inaugural show was a work in progress by Lucia Del, a Hubble sized round mirror courtesy of DV and a monolithic Arsham coffee table prototype. We are getting tons of junk mail for the previous inhabitants.

Waiting to take the swamplunge and conspicuous by their absence were the predictable and reluctant cast of influential locals; perhaps waiting for a nod and a wink from higher-ups. The curious shall inherit the swamp as invariably history is written by revisionists.

President Obama: You will be the first American president that lied to the Jewish people, and the American people as well, when you said that you would defend Israel, the only Democratic state in the Middle East, against all their enemies. You have done just the opposite. You have propagandized Israel, until they look like they are everyone's enemy — and it has resonated throughout the world. You are putting Israel in harm's way, and you have promoted anti-Semitism throughout the world. You have brought this to a people who have given the world the Ten Commandments and most laws we live by today. The Jewish people have given the world our greatest scientists and philosophers, and the cures for many diseases, and now you play a very dangerous game so you can look like a true martyr to what you see and say are the underdogs. But the underdogs you defend are murderers and criminals who want Israel eradicated. Forever Young

After his death last year, self-taught artist Purvis Young left behind a treasure trove of outsider art. He also left his studio unchanged for the fortunate self-taught artist Juan Rozas to have access to. Both have painted on discarded objects as their canvases, including doors, cardboard, and pieces of wood. Rozas draws his inspiration from the passionate Purvis, his work and his spirit, forever young.

Hyperculture refers to the staggering rate of change in modern technological societies. It is the condition of perpetual interregnum. In other words hyperculture is our constant state of being between knowing and feeling while information continues to flow with increasing volume. The rampant illnesses of our society--including the disintegration of the family, the degradation of the environment, unlimited commercialism, and unrelenting stress are familiar to us all.

Victor Muñiz examines the profundity of Hyperculture according to the Gaian hypothesis that the earth is a self-regulating organism. Can the same be said of information? Does it lead a life of its own or is it merely a disposable by-product of mass culture?

In the age of information, Muñiz is a terabit of talent.
